Chocolate Chip Cookies

375 degrees...9 minutes...5 dozen.

Combine in a small bowl:

2.25 cups all-purpose flour

1 t baking soda

1 t salt

Cream together in large bowl:

1 c softened butter or Crisco

3/4 c sugar

3/4 c brown sugar

1 t vanilla

Add one at a time to butter/sugar mix, beating well after each addition:

2 eggs

Add gradually to butter/sugar mix:

flour mix

2 c (12-oz) chocolate chips

1 c chopped nuts, if desired.

CooK:

Drop by rounded tablespoon onto UNGREASED cookie sheets;

Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown;

Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes;

Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
