Profile: Performer, teacher and choreographer. Director of the Samovar Dance Theatre and the Samovar Dance Studio.

Professional: Ruric's mastery of Egyptian, Turkish and American Tribal belly dance, her untraditional sword and veil dancing, and her innovative yet disciplined approach to one of the world's most compelling dance arts has given her a regional reputation as a mesmerizing performer and teacher.

Ruric teaches belly dance technique and dance exercise classes at her studio in Louisville KY. Her workshop series, The Body Electric, focuses on technique, musicality and improvisation and is presented several times during the year. She also directs the Samovar Dance Theatre, which she founded in 2005 to provide students interested in American and experimental belly dance with a performance outlet. She incorporates her studies in massage therapy, yoga and pilates into her curriculum so that her students learn to dance safely and strongly as well as with emotion and precision.

Ruric presents belly dance as a dance art worthy of discipline and dedication, and her performances and classes reflect that conviction.
