Ruric-Amari and Anna of Samovar

11am - 1 pm: INDIC IDIOM with Ruric-Amari.

Bharatanatyam and Oriental Dance, when combined with respect, offer a new freedom and range in dance. The flowing musical movements of Oriental Dance, with its complete torso control, become the perfect complement to the ancient, exactly balanced science of Bharatanatyam, drawing its power from earthy feet and expressive eyes and hands. You will learn a break down of Bharatanatyam-inspired foot patterns, traveling steps, poses, hand gestures and head movements, then layer them with movements from oriental dance to create powerful and expressive combinations. ($20)

1:30 - 2 pm: Zills for Dummies with Anna of Samovar.

Maybe all you need are some great basic zill drills! This 30 minute beginner class will break down, step-by-step, the basic gallop and singles and then drill them over basic steps. Whether you've just never played or you just never got it, come learn the bare basics of the art of finger cymbals. ($5)

2 - 3pm: Walk, Chew Gum and Play Zills with Anna of Samovar.

Playing zills and dancing are NOT mutually exclusive! You CAN do both SIMULTANEOUSLY! Come learn simple patterns that work with your dancing, patterns that are easily adaptable, versatile, and musical. Play beautifully without compromising the quality of your dancing (or looking like a robot or a deer in the headlights). For those dancers acquainted with the basic gallop and singles and up. ($10)

7:30 pm: LOVELY LATE NIGHT party.

The one-hour dance concert will be followed by a dance party with lots of open dancing and refreshments! ($5)

So what is the dacha? More than just a place to escape, it is a community. This is the place where people find the hobby of their life.
